Can I just say that when Krispy Kremes are placed the the freezer for safe keeping and a brought out as a special treat after the kids go to bed---they are almost as good as the day they were purchased. I am addicted, yes I have a problem. Please someone let me know (ok, mirror, mirror on the wall) when it gets this bad....

Oh, and Happy October (almost) Everyone!

Today is my Dad's 60th birthday! I truly feel blessed to have him as my Dad! I hope to become more like someday. Growing up with him was always an adventure as he always made things fun with his positive attitude and zest for life! My children are spoiled by him and worship the ground he walks on! He is the ultimate great advice giver, mouse hunt guide, story teller, tractor ride chauffeur, and hiking companion and the one you call for an all around good time! How lucky we are to live close, and to be close. We love him so much! Happy Birthday Dad! (And sorry to post how old/young you are! You look great and we bet you are enjoying discount tickets at the movies and all-you-can-eat buffets. We heard lunch with the office was wonderful at the Senior Citizen Center! Sorry the bus ride didn't work out!)

UFO's

Last night's conversation....

Jeff---telling a suspenseful bedtime story to our 4 children all snuggled on one bed.

Me, while folding laundry---"Jeff that sounds like a great story......are you telling them about UFO's?"

Jeff---"yes...but nothing scary I "promise"!"

Walker---"Mom, he is polluting the minds of his poor helpless children! He really thinks that UFO's are real! He is freaking me out!"

later during Wyatts 10th time out of bed with another excuse....
Wyatt---"Mom, I sure hope a UFO doesn't come to our house tonight! I think I'm scared"

Me---Wyatt I promise they won't. We are safe in our house! Please go to bed!

I think Jeff might want to tell a story about the Boogie Man or Vampire Bats tonight, it might make our children feel safer!

FHE

For family night last night we watched a little of this...

Then we rode a little of this...

Then we listened to a lot of this...

Walker is loving being 9 and playing flag football, Jeff is enjoying his mid-life crisis riding this little ebay treasure, and Whitney has been crowned queen of amazing FHE lessons. We learned a lot about our forever family! I am thankful for mine!

Self Portrait

We had a great Primary Activity this morning on Missionary Work. This is Wyatt's self portrait. His picture has it's eyes crossed just like him! He has been working on the eye cross trick for a few weeks. I think he has it down! Nothing like a Cross-eyed Missionary!

10 things I wish I could have said this morning

1. Thank you for tip-toeing down the hall instead of running like wild animals while your dad who worked all night is sleeping.

2. Wes your diaper smells like roses!

3. Whitney you practiced your violin like an angel. With an attitude like a song bird in the morning and without being asked.

4. Wyatt that booger is right where it belongs. Smooshed up in a kleenex and in the garbage! Good job!

5. The bus comes in 5 minutes and look you are all ready!

6. On my goodness! The breakfast dishes are loaded and the kitchen is immaculate including the feast for the rat den on the floor.

7. Thanks for breakfast in bed along with a gorgeous bouquet of flowers.

OK....scratch #7 and settle for....

7. I am showered and clean as a whistle and I didn't have one child tattling on another during the whole process.

8. Wyatt you don't need me to wipe your bum anymore? Wow, your arms have grown 6inches.

9. Walker, I am so happy that you are such a peacemaker. You always help your siblings without being asked.

10. Jeff, of course I will go out on a date with you tonight. You arranged the babysitter and everything. What? We are flying to mexico for a 7 day cruise?

Hello My Name Is Wes!

My mom thinks I am the best!

What she doesn't know, is that Dad is enlisting my help with her shopping addictions. He wants me to do whatever I can to get her to leave the premises of a shopping establishment ASAP...

So...everytime and I mean everytime I follow her to TJ MAXX
I CRAP my CHAPS!

(This has happened now 3 times in a row. Super fun and stinky!)

In lew of "FLASHBACK FRIDAY" I wanted to post this picture from the summer of 2006! I fondly remember taking this picture in our backyard on a Sunday before we left for church! Wyatt was giving me a genuine cute smile. (It is good to remember him an adorable 2 year old!) Whitney looks like a baby and was getting ready for preschool! Walker had just lost his front teeth--I love his space!

Our "Pet"

My children are dying for a pet. The salamander, hermit crabs (no...I am not talking about my "Crabs"-see next post), and gold fish that we have had in the past are not cutting it for them. I must admit I AM NOT an animal person. I like to look at them, I think they are cute and fine...but I am not one to touch them or enjoy them with my hands or welcome them into my home. Seriously, I like my house to smell like clean laundry and bleach from a spruced up bathroom. Not animals. Jeff actually tells me that I am "disabled" because the smell of them seriously makes me ill. I am not going to dispute that....especially if I can get a sticker to get me a parking spot that is close. I purposely avoid the pet food isle because the smell of their meals makes my stomach turn. I remember as a little girl petting a dog at my grandparents house and then running to wash and rewash my hands because it smelled like their fur. I should be riding the short bus when it comes to my nose!

We did move to a house that we love, but our yard is small and not fully fenced. Not ideal for the hopes and dreams of our kids and the pet department.

However... there is a neighborhood hustler cat that lives in the gully and frequents our back yard. Of course when my children see him they stampede downstairs and outside in order to give GARY (the next door neighbors named him that, but now call him Gary Johnson) a cat treat! I admit I purchased the treats at Wal-Mart to appease my children, with a close pin over my nose! I think now we have fed him enough to keep him coming around and satisfying the pet craze. Bonus for me...he is fed, petted and then disappears into the gully to find all the little harlot females in the neighborhood. Plus he even may kill a mouse or vole and keep our house varmit free!

My kids love this cat, and I was so nice to say we could keep it! But what they don't know is that I don't have to continually keep his food and water bowl fresh, buy copious amounts of food, smell his cattness in our house, or clean a litter box. Because everyone knows kids love pets when they first move into the family, and them when they have lost their luster, mom gets to take care of one more thing! Not a great addition to my Ground Hog Day life! For now, enjoy the neighborhood cat--he is yours!

Who is the idiot now!

Well this story begins a earlier this summer (eventhough there is a long history of practical jokes that started a few years ago in our well loved old neighborhool) when we had a quaint little yard sale in the neighbors yard while they were vacationing away in Hawaii. Embarrasing yes, but something the whole neighborhood could enjoy (kind of)!

Last night we got together with our favorite old friends. Had a great time together as usual! (Suspected absolutely nothing!!!)
This morning woke up.....

1. Dropped children off at the elementary school
2. Drove around the neighborhood, enjoying the beautiful morning
3. Drove across town to drop 4 year old off at preschool
4. While driving received a tip from the other friend who had been ambushed as well, to check the back of your car for obscene bumper stickers....
5. Got out of the car at preschool and found this baby......

Nice touch don't you think? Please (All of the Pocatello drivers that saw me sporting this around town)that this is not true!

6. Had a great laugh. Removed the bumper sticker.
7. Arrived home.
8. Reapplied the obscenity for a great photo op to remember this blessed occasion.
9. Got busy with hungry, screaming children.
10. 3 hours later with a smile on my face from the funny joke, raced back into my car for piano and dance classes.....(forgetting that I still had not taken the photo of the bumper sticker, or removed it from the back of my car.)
11. Drove clear across town, including the highland area, freeway, university area, and old town!
12. Dropped Walker off at Piano.
13. Drove 2 miles to the car wash.
14. Sat in line at the car wash with others lining up behind me.
15. Vacuumed out my car, including the rear luggage area.
16. Shut the rear door, and rediscovered that I STILL Had Crabs!

I am dying of embarrassment! Payback is going to be fun....again! Any ideas?

New Discovery....

Jeff, my devoted loving husband discovered something new today! Yea! He learned the new complicated task of exercising while playing his treasured, violent, wife despising, time wasting X-box. Got to love the wheels on the treadmill to allow for a front row seat in front of the tube! I don't think I will be as critical with his video game time, if he is getting a good work out at the same time. I am a fan of a multi-tasker. Way to go Jeff! (No picture to come anytime soon---I want to stay an adoring wife)

......Hmmm......If only I could place the treadmill in front of the computer, or better yet the fridge.......

Wyatt's 1st Day of Preschool!

Wyatt is 4 and 1/2, off to preschool and I cannot believe it! As he was eating breakfast this morning I reminded him that today was the day! He said, Mom, I am not even excited! I then reminded him that he could finally wear his cheap Wal-mart converse wannabes that he has been saving all summer and he was ecstatic. Thank goodness! (And thank you Aunt Char for the awesome new threads!)
Jeff & I dropped him off without and tears or glitches from either party! We didn't know what to do with only one child for 2.5 hours. Yea! We did look at each other in amazement at how fast time goes. Wyatt is still supposed to be little!
He was sad went he went to bed tonight. He has to wait 1 more day until he can go again! "I love school!"--Wyatt, Sept 2, 2008
