Dang...

I really am a liar.
You know how I mentioned my 4 eyes disappearing into 2?
Well, the whole hub-bub is being postponed until the first of next year.
2011 that is.
Tomorrow I will be happy wearing my contacts.
It will feel good.
I will also be able to wear my sunglasses without my glasses underneath.
That is what I am most disappointed about.
I love having 6 eyes...
I look HOT on a sunny day with 2 pairs of glasses layered on top of each other.
I know passerby's will be disappointed too.
It is quite a show.

I really hope I don't have to be a liar anymore... :)
I am tired of my pants being on fire.

I am a Big Fat Liar...

Especially after my last post. Brace yourselves...yeah right. This week the blog has been neglected (imagine that) and I am sure I have embarrassed my children. Hello, Given. And for the record I have worn my glasses for 5 days straight. Not to intentionally embarrass my Kindergartner, but to hopefully say goodbye to these 4-eyes in the form of heaven sent Lasik. Almost 1 week down, 3 more to go.

Today was a good Sunday even with 4 kids alone at church. Jeff's schedule bites, but we pull through. I am motivated to have my kids there...every week. I yearn for them have an unwavering testimony and for the times that they look forward to being at church for a whole 3 hours, instead of asking me every 5 minutes, "is it time to go home yet?"

I was especially excited to get my kids to church today after I remembered that
#1--I was a Liar,
#2--Whitney asked me how much I got paid to be Primary President......definitely not enough. :)
and
#3--I heard Wes, the Sunbeam, break the 3rd Commandment last night before bed.

Needless to say, this morning I pulled up the panty-hose pretty dang fast to get us all there on time. We however probably should have gone to church for 6 hours.

Anyway, we survived and enjoyed a Break the Fast dinner together. Here is some of the conversation we enjoyed and died laughing over:

1. Whitney asked and was curious to know how much Concussion Oil we have in our house.
Consecrated Oil---Check
Concussion Oil---Let me go Check.

2. Walker mentioned that he would like to serve a mission and especially in a place where they speak Pig-Latin. If anyone knows where they speak that....please let us know, and President Monson for that matter.

3. With the obsession of Pig-Latin in our home, Wyatt has been practicing for his mission too. Unfortunately at the dinner table in Pig-Latin, he asked Jeff to pass the Poop instead of Milk. Dinner was hard to get down, especially because spaghetti and meatballs were on the menu.

4. Wes practiced some Pig (please hold the Latin) and ate just about 2 cans of mandarin orange before dinner. They were on the table ready to be served...and then he blamed it on everyone else in the family besides himself. I wonder why he was not hungry for the rest of his dinner?

Oink Oink. Or as they say in a land far far away Oink-Lay, Oink-Lay.

Quote for the Day...On the way to Kindergarten....

Hey Mom?

Did you know that when you picked me up from Kindergarten yesterday that you were wearing the same PJ's that you are right now?

Do you think that when you come to pick me up, you could be in something else? And will you please put your contacts on? You look A LOT better with them on.

(This is seriously embarrassing.)

(This is my life. But today I seriously am going to go get dressed.)

And....if time permits I will soon post some other tidbits of what we have been up to, and not just funny things my Wyatt says. I will soon be wearing real clothes that hopefully will not embarrass my children, have contacts in my eyeballs, and a disguise on my face..aka make up. In other words, BRACE YOURSELVES!

This St. Patrick's day I caught myself a Leprechaun.
I hope he will give me 3 good wishes.

With this cheesy holiday, Whitney was sure to question our ancestral origin. One of her friends announced to the 2nd grade class that she was part Irish and part Street. To her horror, we probably have a little Street on our family tree.
Dad, I really want to be a Veterinarian when I grow up. Does that mean I will have to do this to a mouse? (Picture him cupping a pretend rodent in one hand, compressions with a single finger from the other, while shouting, dramatically of course, "Live, Live, Live!")

(We could not contain our laughter. And still can't.)

ME: Hey Walk, before we have dinner, why don't you jump in the shower so you are all clean for the night.

WALKER: Ok Mom...even though I already took one this morning. I will have to say goodbye to my deodorant. You know it is 24-hour-protection.

ME: Ummm...(with a ginormous smirk) Why don't you just re-apply.

P.S. Dinner was a hit. Who knew Halibut from Costco would please all 4 of my children. I kept thinking, that aliens abducted my children and replaced them with ones that would actually eat without complaining. Wyatt kept saying, "please pass me more Tablet." He also produced a red handlebar-style mustache from his dinner punch. Always the case with "fancy" dinners.

During Family Home Evening he also informed us that he knew what the 10 Commandments were.
1. No Mooning People
2. No Sunning People
3. And stuff like that.
We need to have more Family Home Evenings.

March 1, 2010--Oh how I have loved you.

Your weather was amazing. I am so excited that have ushered in a taste of Spring. (Mr. Winter...we are getting tired of you.) We are longing for more sunshine, green grass and blooming tulips.

Today I spent time talking teeth with 50 kindergartners.... wild but fun.

We scratched piano lessons off of our weekly list and played at the park.

The oldest 3 took advantage of the snow, (that is quickly disappearing) and went sledding behind our house without coats. Good, Good, Stuff.

Tonight, when the bread winner comes home from his long day we have planned a fancy dinner with the good dishes. Hopefully a Farewell To Winter Dinner. Is that too much to ask?

At dinner I am sure we will reminisce and share stories about my Grandpa. We are melancholy thinking that his time here on this earth is short. We had a peaceful visit with him last night. The feelings that I have are tender but I am happy to know where he is going and who he will be with. I am thankful for his example and the amazing man that he is. I treasure the memories of him.

Oh how I loved...
Cherry Chocolate Blizzards with just him. No parents allowed!
Curling his hair
His Special Punch
Pretending to stowaway in the backseat of his car after one of their frequent visits
His Blue eyes that mine resemble
The Hammock
Flying Kites
His shed with a pile of grain that reached the ceiling
Tubing behind the tractor in the winter
His whistle that went everywhere with us
Mud bogging in the farm trucks---we were bad
and saving the best for last,
My Patriarchal Blessing.

I am a lucky girl.
